This can be caused by a wide variety of factors.
Possibilities include:
- Microsoft Security Essentials running
- Best course of action is to uninstall this
- Long power on time (possibly related to PosTray also)
- Restart the whole till system. This will probably require walking customer through this as till will appear in Teamviewer but you cannot dial in.
- HDD going faulty
- 5500 hard drives can fail a fair bit, and if they are running slow after the above solutions have been tried, it could be a hard drive failure.
- Always make sure there are backups available as if drive fails it is basicallly impossible to get data off.
