Setting up Auto-Login

1. Go to Run (Windows Key + R)

2. Type netplwiz

3. Untick "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer"

If this checkbox is missing, scroll to the bottom of this guide

4. Press Apply - Enter in login credentials for the ebm account ebm/ebmltd

To test you can reboot the till to see if it logs in correctly

Disabling Require Sign-In

If somehow the computer goes to sleep this will prevent the need for a password to be entered
This only really applies to devices that have power settings hard-set in BIOS (e.g. Surface devices)

1. Within Windows Settings go to Accounts

2. Select Sign-in options

3. Scroll down to Require sign-in

Set this to Never

Missing checkbox in netplwiz

Newer versions of Windows have this option disabled by default and must be re-enabled via regedit

Open regedit and navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device

Change DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion value to 0

The till will need restarting for this change to apply
