Setup New Till without Image

Windows user and auto login

1.Create ebm user (administrator access) and set password as ebmltd

2. Go to run (Windows key and R)

3. Type netplwiz

4. Untick "users must enter a username and password to use this computer"

5. Press apply - it will now prompt you to enter username and password which will be used to auto login (enter ebm / ebmltd credentials)

6. Reboot PC and ensure it logs in as ebm automatically

7. Remove the old user (if existent) by going Settings -> Accounts -> Other user(s) -> Select the account -> "Remove account"



If the tick box options does not come up in the setting window, enter in the following file path on "RegEdit" and set the DWORD to 0 which will then enable the password tick box to appear back in that setting window.


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device



Change Computer Name

1. Right click windows key

2. Select System

3. Rename this PC

4. Set it to sitenameTillnumber
E.g Ebm001



Copy ebm folder from the Synology NAS to the till

Create a folder in (C:) named ebm.


Enter \\ebm\ebm\!ebm till folder in explorer

Username - ebm

Password - Bro@dband2


Copy the 7z, paste it into the (C:)/ebm folder.

Extract here.


To speed the process up, drag the 7zip installer out of the 7z file and run it.

This will help you extract much quicker.


Install 7zip

Found in the EBM folder that was copied over


Install TeamViewer Host

This is in the EBM folder copied over

Select "I don't want to create a TeamViewer account now" when installing.



Setup TeamViewer

Once TeamViewer is installed, on the top right click the settings icon

Go to the Security tab

Under "Unattended Access, click "Configure"

Log in, and ensure to tick "Grant EBM Easy Access"

Head back to "General"

Ensure that "Your display name" is set sensibly, format: sitenameTillnumber (eg. EBM001)



Along the right-hand side select Activate on Backup within Available Services


For Multi-Till site customers, ONLY active backup on the master till




Install Touchpoint

1. touchpoint installer should be in c: drive > ebm > installers


A box will display at end of installation about receipt printer setup etc. this can be left but tick full screen 1024x768 mode



Install Font

1. font should be in c: drive > ebm > fonts > poppins medium


Install Google Chrome

The installer is in the EBM folder that was copied over

Pin Chrome to taskbar when installed


Install Notepad++

in ebm folder that was copied over


grab the etal language file -> https://forum.icrtouch.com/files/file/275-custom-language-file-for-notepad/


A user defined language file for ICRTouch Etal script files for Notepad++


This file goes in (Win+R) %APPDATA%\Notepad++ (unzip it first)



Install Advanced IP Scanner

in ebm folder that was copied over

Install Advanced IP


Share ebm and ICRtouch folder

1. Share folder, right click on folder > properties > sharing > advanced sharing > 

- tick share this folder

- select permissions

- remove "everyone" from group or username

- press add and type ebm > check names

- Press ok

- Tick full control


Set EBM Background and lock screen

1. Ebm background should be in c: drive > ebm > images > background folder > use the png image

2. Settings -> Personalisation -> Lock Screen -> Personalise your lock screen should be set to Picture, find the same png image as step 1 and apply.


Group Policy Password expiry Setting

1. go to run (windows key and R)

2. type gpedit.msc

3. See below setting - ensure it is set to zero

PATH - Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Account Policies -> Password Policy


Set the maximum password age and minimum password age both to 0.





Desktop

On taskbar at bottom, right click


Search to be hidden

News and interests (if there) to be off

Hide Cortana

Hide Task view

Hide people on task bar

Show touch keyboard on taskbar

Remove meetings camera by clicking on the icon and selecting "Hide"


Remove all icons from desktop by deleting

To remove recycle bin -

Go to settings -> Personalisation -> Themes -> Desktop Icon Settings -> Untick Recycle Bin -> Apply changes.



User Account Control

Set to lowest



File Explorer show hidden files and file types

In file explorer press view tab, change folder options

pin to taskbar


Disabling Windows Updates

Try to fully update windows - the below can be configured but push through updates manually.


User https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/release-information to check on latest version number for operating system


Run > winver to see what version you have 21h2/1806 etc. and then the os build number should match.


1. go to run (windows key and R)

2. type gpedit.msc

3. Within Local Computer Policy



4. Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update

5. Set the following


Configure Automatic Updates -> Disable

Turn on Software Notifications -> Disable

No Auto-Restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations -> Enable

Do not include drivers with windows updates -> Enable


6. Go to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Edge UI


Allow Edge Swipe -> Disable


7. Once set press Windows Key and type gpupdate

Press enter when run command is displayed


8. Load TouchPoint on startup 


Go into the ICRtouch folder > Windows File > Create shortcut of the TouchPoint Launcher > Move that shortcut into the startup folder .


Startup folder: Windows key & R > type in Shell:startup



Enabling Windows Remote Desktop


Windows Search - Remote Desktop

Select Remote Desktop Settings

Toggle ON


Turning off Notifications & Quick Actions

Windows Search - Notifications

Select Notifications & Actions Settings


Edit your quick actions - unpin all from notication side bar (tablet mode/brightness etc)



Make look as below: Important ones being that "Get notifications from apps and other senders" is OFF | "Suggest ways i can finish setting up my device to get the most out of Windows" is UN-TICKED


Windows Features - Installing .NET and Uninstalling Internet Explorer


Windows Search - Features

Select Turn Windows Features on or off


Make sure both .NET Framework versions are ticked


Scroll down and un-tick Internet Explorer 



Windows Security (shield in taskbar by date/time)

Dismiss account protection


Ensure all others are green ticks



This should now have removed the icon from the bottom of the screen. 


Editing the power options

Open control panel and search for "Power Options"

On the left hand side, find "Choose what the power buttons do"

Change "When I press the power button" setting (Shut Down -> Do nothing)



ICRTouch Regedit changes

Windows Search - Registry Editor

Follow the path found below


Double click "Windowed Mode" and set to "False" (Capital F)


To change resolution, double click XResolution first, change as seen below. (Use decimal and not hexadecimal)


Repeat the same for YResolution, set to 768 or your desired resolution.


Windows Updates

Fully update windows by going to

Settings -> Updates -> Check for updates


This may take a while.
