1. Within Start Menu search for 'Edit Power Plan'
2. Select Edit Power Plan
3. Set the following:
Setting | Value |
Turn off the display | Never |
Put the computer to sleep | Never |
4. Select Power Options within the control panel path at the top of the screen
5. Select Choose what the power buttons do
6. Set the following:
Setting | Value |
When I press the power button | Do nothing |
When I press the sleep button | Do nothing |
Turn on fast startup (recommended) | Un-Tick |
Sleep - show in power menu | Un-Tick |
Hibernate - show in power menu | Un-Tick |
Lock - show in account picture menu | Un-Tick |
7. Click Save Changes to apply
Disabling Hibernation
This can be done on all systems without issue, if a MB is configured on Windows as a mobile platform Windows will hibernate when the screen goes black (meaning the customer will have to press the power button to wake back up)
1. Open elevated PowerShell
2. Enter the following
powercfg /h off
Hibernation will then be disabled on the system
