Check if the printer can do a self-test. You may need to power off, then back on.
Identify whether it is happening when specific items are printed.
This can happen with older printers - especially if the POS is trying to print a 'dense' receipt (lots of used space), such as logos, or black-background food/drink text items.
On occasion, replacing the transformer can resolve this problem.
