Resetting baud rate on a receipt printer

The reason you would want to change the baud rate on a receipt printer would be because before sending out a new printer to replace an old one at a site, you would want the new printer to match the settings their previous one so that there wont be any need for setting up printers again once they arrive on site, all that the customers will need to do is plug on the new printer. There can be many more settings that can be changed on the printer however the most common one is the Baud Rate. All of this will be done using a piece of software however it can also be done manually by using the printer.

This program will be found on the till, and you won’t need any internet connection to be able to use this software.

  • First enter the C-drive
  • There will be a EMB folder in that’s screen that you will click on
  • Then there will be an installers folder, select that folder.
  • Then select printer utility
  • Then the software should be found in that folder named Utility.exe.

The alternative method to changing printer settings are done through the physical printer. When in test mode, press or hold on the feed button that will then print out a menu. Each menu will be given a number which will determine how many time you will have to click the feed button in order to enter that menu screen.
