TERMINAL NOT FOUND ERROR

Created by Jon Mitchell, Modified on Mon, 14 Aug, 2023 at 11:19 AM by Jon Mitchell

This will happen on card machines that are in pay at counter mode only - this will occur on a particular till rather than on every till.

It means the card machine "terminal" is not found as being online.

1. Confirm Error

Check this is the error they are getting by ringing in a test sale (ring in cheapest item on till - maybe open drink/open food? ) and pressing card

2. Is the card machine online, all terminals we do should be connected via bluetooth and ethernet.

On Move3500 or Move5000 they should have the following at the top of the screen:

We have had instances where paymentsense have changed this to be Wi-Fi - this won't work unless paymentsense have amended their end to have integration work via Wi-FI.

3. Card machine set to integrated mode (till mode?)

You cannot tell whether the card mahcine is in integrated mode or standalone mode. But can re-confirm the settings by doing below:

On main screen of terminal (paymentsense logo) press F4

It will display "standalone mode" or it will display "till mode".

On and off will be at each corner of the screen

If standalone mode is at top, select off and then press cancel

If till mode is at the top, select on and then press cancel

Card terminal should reboot - once rebooted back to main paymentsense logo try a test sale.

4. Close the eft app and restart it (either by reset PDQ) or by closing the app, right clicking on it in the task bar and then finding where it is installed (normally in icrtouch folder > v3counter or similar)

Once restarted retry a sale.

5. Check the TID the till is trying to connect to is on the list of "online devices"

Find PaymentSenseCloudInterface.exe.config file in the installation folder and open in notepad

Look for <add key="defaultPDQ" value="xxxxxxxx"/> = where xxxxxxxx is the TID number of the card machine the till is sending amounts to when "card" is pressed.

Right click on EFT app in taskbar and select settings, is this TID listed here?

6. See if the link is working via another card machine

Tills can send amounts to any card machine that are tagged with the same company.

On the finalise key in touchpoint programming (program mode > all prog > function keys > fin keys > card key that is normally pressed for integrated payments > prompt for device (at bottom of list) set to yes
