Departments and sub department would have to be made whenever a new type if item is sold, example would be if a place is starting to sell tickets for shows other than just merch. this will now cause for a new department to be names as well as sub department and a new group. This will help on the report at the end of the day. As all the tickets sold will be then noted down as ticket sales on the end of day reports, allowing for the business to keep track of stocks as accurately as possible.
Creating the group: A new group will have to be made in order so that once you add this new group into the departments, the program will know what PLUS to link back to as all the PLUs that will have to be in a specific department can just easily just all be under the new created group. Rather than adding the PLU in manually.
TOW> Programming> Departments> Then fill in the next available slot with the name of the group.
Next thing that you want to do is to go into the range programming from the products mains screen, this is so that you can set a large number of products a preset that will automatically apply to them at once. The reason you have to range program in this case is so that you can set a sub department to all the list PLU's at once.
All the products that go under the new department can only be placed on the PLU's that you have ranged programmed.
