Details To Gather For Card Terminals

1.  The type of card machine (Dojo / Ingenico)

- This is important to know, as they can be set up in different ways. Ingenico for example cannot be accessed remotely, which is important to know.

2. Serial number

- The serial number is also important to know, as there may be multiple terminals on site. For dojo pockets, you are able to remotely access them using the serial number for example. When contacting Paymentsense, they will ask for the serial number of the terminal meaning it is best to ask for this at the start of the conversation.

3. What till they are connecting/connected to

- We need to know what till they want to connect the card machine to, or what is WAS connected to so that we are able to replicate exactly what the customer is asking for. We should not just choose a random till, as that till may be in a different location to where the customer intended for it to be.

4. TID

- The TID is similar to the serial number, in that it is a unique number that can be used to identify the card machine. This is needed to integrate the terminal to a till.

5. Till IP

- To integrate a card terminal, you would need the IP address of the desired till. Most often, this is the IP address of the master till. This would then be set in settings.

6. Connection Type

- There are a multitude of ways that a card machine can be connected to a till. The machine will most likely be connected through WiFi, however there are options to use Bluetooth.
