Random Code

Every product has a random code section, this option can have two different uses and each random code has to be unique for each product on each TOW account.

Use 1:

One use for the random code could be when allocating a bar code to the product so that once it is scanned it can then link back to that same products PLU. This will allow for stock to be measured as some retailers primary method of sale could be through scanning bar codes.

Use 2:

Another use of the random code is for the online ordering system. When adding products onto to the online web you may want to showcase each product in a particular order accordingly to product size or just customer requirement. When entering in the random code, it is important to note that the product with lowest number code will be the product showcasing at the top of the product list on the web shop.

One method of making sure that numbers don't get reused or keeping track of what numbers have been used, make sure to use the PLU numbers of the products that will showcase on that screen. In the example below I have the Shandy PLU for the pint random code as it was the lowest PLU number which allowed for the pint to be at the top of the list.
